Lewis Hamilton's emotional & heartfelt interview about Sebastian Vettel's retirement

Lewis Hamilton has reacted to the news that Sebastian Vettel is to retire at the end of the 2022 season in an emotional and heartfelt interview, where he praises the German as a “beautiful human being” just as much as he praises him as the legendary racing driver that we all know.

The recent news of Vettel’s forthcoming retirement at the end of the 2022 season has left many F1 fans in shock and sadness that they will not see the smiley German on the F1 track again after this campaign, having been a mainstay on the circuit since 2007.

And his old racing rival Hamilton shares the pain of the fans, giving a heartfelt interview to Sky Sports in which he claimed he was “sad when arriving today and hearing the news,” with the Brit’s tone and demeanour showing how much Vettel’s retirement had affected him.

However, Hamilton reassured that despite his sadness at Vettel’s retirement, he is confident that his former rival will go on to accomplish further great things in his life post-F1, claiming: “I know whatever he goes and does beyond this is going to be even better.”

It is some statement to claim that after winning 53 Grands Prix and four World Drivers’ Championships, that the 35-year-old German will go on to achieve even greater things after his F1 career. However, Vettel has agreed with Hamilton’s claim, stating that: “My best race is still to come.”
