Lewis Hamilton: Briton shares running clip as he appears to prepare for 2022 season
Lewis Hamilton returned to social media over the weekend as he ended his silence after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December, and it looks as though he is already back in the swing of posting regularly.
The 7-time champion went off of the grid after events in Yas Marina last December, with Michael Masi’s controversial Safety Car call handing Max Verstappen the championship in the final stages.
Indeed, Hamilton’s silence sparked suggestions that he might be leaving the sport for good, with Toto Wolff saying the end of the 2021 campaign had left the Briton ‘disillusioned.’
However, he returned to social media over the weekend with the caption ‘I’m back’ and it appears he is getting his training going for the 2022 campaign with this post on his Instagram stories, with him running through London early in the morning, joined by his right-hand woman Angela Cullen:
Formula 1 would have been a poorer place this coming season without the 7-time champion, especially if he had left amid the circumstances caused by the race in Abu Dhabi last December.
It does appear as though he is gearing up for a return to the sport in 2022, though, and he’ll be desperate to challenge again for an eighth world title as the new rules and regulations come into force.
