Lewis Ferguson targeted by Aberdeen fans as he reacts to expletive filled abuse

Lewis Ferguson was involved in an exchange with furious Aberdeen fans following his side’s Scottish Cup exit to Motherwell.

The Dons midfielder made his way through the Tommy McLean Stand after full time in the 2-1 fifth round loss.

Players are forced to exit via the stand behind the goal due to Covid restrictions.

But it also houses the away support and the raging Red Army made their feelings known following a fourth defeat in five games.

And video footage emerged on social media showing Ferguson - who netted in the midweek defeat against Celtic at Pittodrie - being targeted as he heads for the exit.

The 22-year-old appears to react to the expletive-laden rant aimed in his direction with a gesture which further angers the Dons supporters.

Christian Ramirez had given the visitors the lead but the Steelmen responded with two goals before half time and a Liam Kelly wonder save at the death ensured victory.

The defeat piles pressure on Stephen Glass with his side lying ninth in the Scottish Premiership and having also gone out of the Premier Sports Cup to Raith Rovers.
