Lewis Ferguson reveals ultimate transfer dream as Bologna star admits he was right to trust advice of Scotland pal

Lewis Ferguson has admitted he would love to play in the English Premier League, but has no itchy feet to leave a purple patch at Bologna.

The Scotland star helped I Rossoblu move into a Champions League spot in Serie A with the midfielder captaining his side to a win over Jose Mourinho's Roma at the weekend to put them up to fourth place which would lead to an automatic place in Europe's elite competition. Bologna haven't played there for 60 years and haven't even been in any European tournaments since 1999.

Ferguson has been linked with a big money move to some of the top clubs in Italy including Juventus and Lazio. But the former Aberdeen star has made it clear he won't move in January because he's enjoying playing for Thiago Motta's side too much. He said: "It may seem surprising to people on the outside that we are doing so well and are so high up in the table, but not to us.

"Every day we work hard and this is a very united group, made up of guys who trust each other. How high can we go? Who knows, but I trust this squad to continue playing as well as we have been doing. I am happy at Bologna - I was right to trust Aaron Hickey's advice to sign for the club. In a very unspecified time in the future, I see myself in the English Premier League.

"If you learn to exploit the spaces in Italian football, you can play anywhere, midfielder, attacking midfielder or winger. I could have scored more goals, but I never doubted I could do it in Italy too. At Aberdeen, I scored goals consistently and I know I can reach double figures this season."
