Leona Maguire's clubs go missing in Dublin Airport ahead of French major

Leona Maguire's quest for a first-ever major title this week has been disrupted as her golf bag is missing ahead of the Amundi Evian Championship in golf.

The Cavan woman took to social media this morning to appeal for help after her equipment was misplaced as she flew from Dublin to Geneva in Switzerland.

"Really need help from someone @DublinAirport or DAA. Flew from Dublin to Geneva yesterday direct and somehow my golf bag has gone missing between checkin and takeoff. @FlySWISS & @swissportNews have no idea where it is. Need it urgently for @EvianChamp major this week," her tweet read.

Maguire, currently ranked 19th in the world, already has one top-10 finish in a major this season having come in in a tie for eighth at the Women’s US Open. Her best ever result in the top events came at last year’s Evian Championship when she finished in a tie for sixth.

The event starts on Thursday, with Ireland's Stephanie Meadow also earning an invite off the back of her CME Globe points tally.
