Leon Balogun and the giddy Rangers verdict that offers clue over where his next move could be

Outgoing Leon Balgoun has been hailed as a Rangers dressing room leader following his Ibrox exit.

The 33-year-old's contract is up this summer and the club have confirmed he will not be extending his two-year stint in the Premiership.

The Nigeria international brought the curtain down on his time at Ibrox with a Scottish Cup winners medal, having lifted the Premiership title in his previous season.

Following his exit, former Rangers assistant boss Michael Beale has lauded the defender, sparking speculation that he could be heading for QPR this summer.

Beale left his role as Steven Gerrard 's number two at Aston Villa to take on the top job at Loftus Road earlier this month.

A Rangers reunion could be on the cards in the English Championship as Beale looks to steer the club back to the English Premier League.

Posting to Twitter, Beale heaped praise on the centre-back: "Leon Balogun was outstanding for Rangers - both on the pitch but also around the changing room.

"He is a 'personality' leader who gives his team mates so much positivity and guidance on a daily basis. Take a bow."
