Leny Yoro to Man United transfer boost as 'dream' Kobbie Mainoo partner emerges

Manchester United's summer preparations are in full swing now. After signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna on Sunday afternoon, the Red Devils kickstarted their pre-season schedule against Norway top-flight outfit Rosenborg.

Erik ten Hag named a starting XI full of youngsters but there were outings for Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Mason Mount and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. United lost 1-0 in Norway in a pretty uninspiring performance, a display that led to Ten Hag calling for more from his players.

Focus will now turn to their trip to the United States of America later this month. Off the pitch, new sporting director Dan Ashworth is continuing his work in the transfer market and will be hoping to add a number of additional faces to Ten Hag's squad before the first game of the season against Fulham.

With that being said, MEN Sport has taken a look at the latest United news and gossip that has been doing the rounds in the last 24 hours.

Man United's interest in Lille centre-back Leny Yoro is well-documented. Earlier this month, it was reported that the Red Devils had had a bid accepted by the French club but a decision by the player was what was delaying the move.

Real Madrid is understood to be his preference but the European champions are yet to agree a deal with Lille. Fortunately for United, the race for the teenager's signature is down to just two as PSG have reportedly backed out of the race.
