Leigh Griffiths set for Falkirk exit as former Celtic star leads 14 departures

Leigh Griffiths will be among 14 players to leave Falkirk at the end of the season.

The former Celtic and Hibs striker made a surprise move to the League One club in February on a short-term deal.

But after 13 appearances and two goals for the Bairns, the 31-year-old will be on the move again.

A Falkirk statement on Tuesday announced an extensive list of departures as the club close in on a deal to make John McGlynn their new manager who will leave Raith Rovers at the end of this month.

Robbie Mutch, Paul Dixon, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, Cammy Williamson, MacKenzie Lemon, Gary Miller, Charlie Telfer, Ben Weekes and Samuel Ompreon will all join Griffiths in leaving at the end of their contracts.

Striker Anton Dowds, meanwhile, has agreed a pre-contract to join Partick Thistle in the summer, while loanees Jevon Mills (Hull City), Keaghan Jacobs (Livingston) and Jaze Kabia (Livingston) will return to their parent clubs.

Record Sport exclusively revealed on Monday that Falkirk were close to agreeing a deal to bring in McGlynn from Championship side Raith Rovers.

The Bairns parted company with Martin Rennie on April 14 and are expected to replace him with the 60-year-old former Hearts and Livingston manager.

McGlynn's exit from Rovers was officially announced by the club on Tuesday.
