The Austrian international suffered a thigh injury in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final against West Ham which saw him stretchered off.

Manager Oliver Glasner immediately ruled him out of the final against Rangers and stressed he would be out for many weeks, but insisted he would travel with the team to help his colleagues.

But Eintracht captain Sebastian Rode has revealed Hinteregger could yet be in line for a remarkable recovery against Gio van Bronckhorst 's side.

He said: "Martin decided to ask for a second opinion about the injury and he's not ruled himself out.
