Leicester: Rodgers 'won't accept what's going on' at the King Power Stadium

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers will be growing frustrated at the lack of incomings while big-name stars are being linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The Foxes got the new campaign underway with a 2-2 draw against Brentford, but it was seen as two points dropped after failing to hold onto a two-goal lead.

According to Football Insider, Rodgers is fighting for his job amid tense relations with club chiefs behind the scenes.

The report suggests the 49-year-old, who was appointed as Leicester’s boss in February 2019, is unhappy that he has not been backed by the club hierarchy and they, in turn, have major doubts over his long-term position.

Rodgers has been unable to add any fresh faces to his squad during the summer transfer window due to having to offload players first.

The Northern Irishman has already seen goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel end his 11-season spell with the club by joining Nice, while doubts over Youri Tielemans’ future have continued after entering the final 12 months of his £120,000-per-week contract.

Wesley Fofana has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, with £80million understood to be the figure Leicester are seeking, and £60million could be enough to entice the Foxes into selling James Maddison after rejecting a £50million bid from Newcastle United.

Bridge has hinted that Rodgers will not be happy with how the transfer window has gone and, as a result, could be assessing his options.

The Sky Sports reporter feels the departures of Maddison, Fofana and Tielemans after already sanctioning Schmeichel’s exit would not look good for the Leicester chief.
