Everton: Conor Coady signing brings 'small concern' at Goodison Park

Everton may have some concerns over the signing of Conor Coady after the centre-back completed a season-long loan swap to Goodison Park, according to Paul Brown of the Daily Star.

Frank Lampard has overseen a slow summer of business on the blue half of Merseyside but the Toffees are slowly starting to see some new arrivals.

Coady completed his loan move this week, becoming the fourth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Ruben Vinagre, Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski.

It was a deal that ended the 29-year-old’s seven-year stint at Molineux and Lampard will hope he can provide some crucial leadership.

In the following days, their biggest deal of the summer went through when Amadou Onana signed on the dotted line from Lille, with a £32 million fee changing hands.

Former midfielder Idrissa Gueye is also closing in on a return to the club this summer after leaving for Paris Saint-Germain back in 2019.

The hunt for a striker is also continuing on Merseyside. Richarlison was sold to Tottenham earlier this summer while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also been sidelined with another injury, leaving Solomon Rondon as the only fit senior forward at Lampard’s disposal.

Chelsea forward Armando Broja has been targeted while a move for Stuttgart’s 6ft 7in marksman Sasa Kalajdzic is also being considered.

Despite his credentials, the journalist believes that his advanced age could provide a concern at Goodison Park but will likely prove a good signing.
