Leicester City are gearing up for the summer transfer window and it's a full-on operation that requires a lot of planning.

City have a pretty good record at snapping up players at decent prices and turning them into world-beaters, a process that has seen them rise up the Premier League standings and make huge profits on a number of stars.

They will hope for more success this summer, especially with Rodgers saying he wants five or six new faces as part of his "healthy shake-up". But how do they go about picking the players they will pursue? And how do they have such an enviable success rate in the transfer market? Here is a look at the process they go through.

Throughout the process, there are meetings between the three main players in deciding transfer targets: manager Brendan Rodgers, the head of recruitment, and City's director of football Jon Rudkin. City's head of recruitment role is currently vacant following Lee Congerton's move to Atalanta, with the club on the hunt for a replacement.

With processes and plans already in place, this summer's business should not be greatly affected. Those meetings between the trio will have taken place, and discussions will have been had on the positions they are looking to strengthen, and the characteristics required for a player in the role. By the end, there will be a list of three targets, ranked by preference, for Rudkin to chase up.
