Leicester City now on 'front' foot as goal hero Harvey Barnes reveals dislike of basketball

It's a good morning for Leicester City after they secured back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time this season with a 1-0 win over Leeds United. At LeicestershireLive we have compiled all the latest Foxes headlines on Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has said that a reinforcement that ‘defending from the front’ has helped the team tighten up defensively.

City picked up their second clean sheet in three days with a 1-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

It comes after a midweek victory over Burnley saw City record their first away clean sheet of the season.

“It’s just a collective mentality, reinforcing the importance that our defending starts from the front, especially when you think of the players we have got out defensively,” Rodgers said about the improved defensive performances in his post-match press conference.

“I think collectively, that focus around our pressing to be more aggressive from the top end of the field.”

Harvey Barnes has been praised for his "brilliant" match-winning goal against Leeds United for Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds made a luckless start to life under new head coach Jesse Marsch, controlling the game at the King Power Stadium for long periods but unable to get the goal their play arguably deserved.

The 24-year-old Foxes front-man scored midway through the second half in a rare moment of attacking quality for Brendan Rodgers' side.

It was the decisive goal of the game, and the win lifts Leicester City to 12 points off the top six, securing back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time this season.

Former Leeds United Ladies forward and Sky Sports pundit Lucy Ward was full of praise for Barnes.
