Leicester City face uncertainty over triple injury blow ahead of Manchester United fixture

Leicester City face the possibility of being without up to three key players for their trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United next Saturday evening.

The Foxes, who beat United 4-2 at the King Power Stadium back in October, have been forced to deal with a plethora of injury issues to key personnel throughout the campaign and lady luck does not appear to be changing for manager Brendan Rodgers. Their never-ending injury woes this term have contributed to their slide down the Premier League table, with the club set to miss out on a top-five finish for the first time since 2018/19.

Rodgers, throughout the season, has been robbed of his first choice central-defenders, with former United man Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana spending almost all of it on the treatment table. But whilst those two have recently made their returns, the Foxes now face uncertainty in midfield and attack.

Defensive-midfielder Wilfred Ndidi faces the prospect of missing the remainder of the season through a medial ligament injury. He was forced off after an hour in the Foxes' 2-1 defeat to Rennes in the Europa Conference League earlier this month and Rodgers recently admitted that it is possible his season could be over.

"Wilf is not so good," Rodgers said, speaking after Leicester's 2-1 win over Brentford last Sunday. "We're just waiting for a second opinion on that but whether he'll play for the rest of the season I'm not sure. It's a real shame for us."

Fellow midfielder Marc Albrighton also misses the prospect of missing the trip to Old Trafford, even if he stands a far greater chance of featuring than Ndidi. He was also forced off against Rennes with a groin problem
