Leicester: 'Big, big decision' to make at the King Power Stadium

Leicester City should not sack Brendan Rodgers, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Foxes are rock bottom of the Premier League after collecting just one point from their first six matches, but Jones reckons they should stick with the ex-Celtic and Liverpool boss for a little longer.

It’s truly been a dreadful start to the season for the Midlands club, whose only positive result was the opening day draw with Brentford and even then, they squandered a two-goal and drew 2-2.

Since then, Leicester have been in woeful form, losing to Arsenal, Southampton, Chelsea, Manchester United and Brighton, who thrashed them 5-2 on Sunday.

Leicester also needed penalties to beat League Two Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup last month.

As a result, Rodgers’ job has come under serious threat, with Leicester potentially facing a relegation battle less than 18 months after the Northern Ireland manager guided them to fifth and won the FA Cup.

But Rodgers’ case hasn’t been helped by their lack of transfer activity, with Wout Faes their only outfield incoming all summer, while they lost Wesley Fofana to Chelsea.

Despite their wretched recent form, Jones doesn’t think that sacking a manager of Rodgers’ quality would be a good idea.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It would be a big, big decision to actually get rid of Rodgers, and I’m not sure I would advise it.

“But I think he would have that confidence in himself that if it does happen, he could actually land a big job next, anyway.”

Despite a testing opening month of the season, the fixture list doesn’t exactly get any easier for Leicester, who host Aston Villa this weekend before travelling to Tottenham in their final game before the international break.
