Leicester: 48 y/o now 'top of shortlist to replace Rodgers' at the King Power

Leicester City ‘would like’ to lure Thomas Frank away from Brentford if Brendan Rodgers is sacked by the King Power Stadium hierarchy, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Foxes only spent just over £15million during the summer transfer window and have made a worrying start to the campaign.

Leicester will head into Monday’s Midlands derby against Nottingham Forest sitting bottom of the Premier League and desperate for three points.

Rodgers admitted that he is under increasing pressure after the Foxes’ 6-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur before the international break and it is understood that the Northern Irishman is on extremely thin ice.

The 49-year-old would reportedly be entitled to a compensation package worth £10million if he is sacked and Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth recently told GIVEMESPORT that Leicester’s financial issues have kept him in the job.

According to The Sun, Brentford chief Frank is at the top of the the list of potential replacements for Rodgers.

However, Leicester may find it difficult to tempt the Dane away from west London as the report suggests he is in no rush to leave the Bees after penning a new three-year contract in January.

Jacobs understands that Frank is the first choice candidate to replace Rodgers if Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha opts to wield the axe.

The journalist believes Sean Dyche and Mauricio Pochettino will also be in the running if they cannot lure the 48-year-old to the King Power Stadium.
