Legendary Tyrone manager Art McRory passes

Former Tyrone manager Art Mcrory has passed away.

The Dungannon man led the Red Hands to five Ulster SFC titles in three different spells at the helm as well as a National League title in 2002 while in joint charge with Eugene McKenna.

McRory also took Tyrone to a first All-Ireland final in 1986, which they lost to Kerry.

A second All-Ireland decider was reached nine years later in 1995 where they were edged by a single point by Dublin in a game famed for Peter Canavan's brilliance and Charlie Redmond's controversial 'delayed' sending off.

McRory's inter-county management career began in triumph when he took Tyrone to an All-Ireland minor title in 1973.

He was also assistant to Ulster boss Brian McEniff for many years during the heyday of the Railway Cup.

Mr McRory was aged 82.
