Legendary Sky Sports man blown away by Lennon Miller while doing Celtic Champions League homework

Lennon Miller has landed a glowing review from iconic football commentator Martin Tyler - who has revealed he became aware of the Motherwell star while doing his homework on Celtic during their 3-0 victory over the Steelmen at Fir Park on Sunday.

Teenage sensation Miller has quickly established himself as one of the hottest prospects in Scotland, with the 18-year-old already being tipped for a big money move away from Lanarkshire. And Tyler - who was Sky Sports' football commentator on the Premier League for 31 years between 1992 and 2023 - lavished praise on the Scotland U21 cap on an episode of his very own "The Joy of Football Podcast" with former Chelsea stadium announcer Neil Barnett.

The 79-year-old said: "You and many of you watching may not have heard of Lennon Miller, and to be honest I hadn't heard of him till recently. I am doing some preparation on Celtic for a Champions League assignment in a few days time, and they were playing Motherwell.

"This young man caught my eye playing for Motherwell. He's 18 and made his debut for Motherwell aged 16 and six days in a Scottish League cup tie a couple of years back. He is the son of a former Scotland international Lee Miller, who did have a spell playing in England at Middlesbrough and Carlisle for a little bit longer.

"So he has got football in his family and has already played 50 games. He's scored six goals and will score a few more because he is playing further forward.

"Celtic won the game 3-0 in the end but at 0-0 from between 18-25 yards, he (Miller) hit the post and then hit the bar with shots that had Kasper Schmeichel well-beaten and a millimetre either way, the goal would be getting played over and over again.
