Leeds 'will do really well' to keep £120m duo at Elland Road

Leeds United ‘will do really well’ to keep winger Raphinha and midfielder Kalvin Phillips at the club beyond the summer, according to pundit Carlton Palmer.

The two star performers have been heavily linked with moves away from Elland Road in recent weeks after putting in some eye-catching performances over the last 18 months or so.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona have already made an opening offer of €35 million (£29m) for Raphinha, who is believed to be keen on moving to Camp Nou.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the Brazil international’s situation, revealing the Blaugrana are ‘in well advanced talks’ with Deco, the player’s agent.

However, The Mirror claim that a £60m price tag has been placed on Raphinha, with Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham, Newcastle United and Bayern Munich also listed as potential suitors.

Phillips, meanwhile, is believed to be on the radar of several Premier League sides after excelling for both club and country.

The Times claim that Aston Villa are the ‘frontrunners’ for the 26-year-old’s signature and that they are ready to pay £60m to prise him away from his boyhood club.

It’s claimed that the Midlands outfit have identified Phillips as a ‘key target’ and are willing to offer him a financial package worth in the region of £10m a year to fend off interest from Newcastle United and West Ham.

Leeds are currently struggling at the wrong end of the top-flight table and are hovering just two places above the relegation zone.

But former England midfielder Palmer believes the Whites will face a battle to keep hold of their prized assets no matter what division they are
