Leeds: Update reveals how Elland Road stars really feel about Jesse Marsch

Leeds United players enjoyed playing in Jesse Marsch’s system last weekend, claims journalist Dean Jones.

The Whites went on to lose in the American’s first game in charge after conceding the sole goal to Harvey Barnes and Leicester City, but Jones believes the team really embraced having a new manager at the helm and will improve in the coming weeks.

While Leeds were not able to win the match, they at least looked much more solid at the back.

Prior to that 1-0 loss at the King Power, the Yorkshire club had conceded a whopping 14 goals in their last three outings, with six of those coming in a humiliating 6-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Ultimately, there was an improvement, though the opposition this time around was obviously not as strong as some of the other teams they have faced recently. Nevertheless, Marsch was still pleased with what he saw.

“I’m not saying we were better, but in general I am very pleased after four days and where we changed a lot of tactical topics and changed a lot of what we are trying to accomplish, there was such clarity and we were able to execute in the game,” the 48-year-old said after the game (via The Athletic).

“What I found out is I know how hard they work, how committed they are, how intelligent they are, how proud they want to make the fans.”

Jones thinks the team really enjoyed playing under Marsch and embraced the 4-2-3-1 system he went with on the day.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the insider said: “I think most of the players seemed to enjoy it, embraced it, and I think between now and the end of the season, we’ll undoubtedly see an improvement in this Leeds team.
