Leeds United transfer news: Signing No 2 done amid big Fabrizio Romano reveal on Rasmus Kristensen

Leeds United will finalise and potentially announce the signing of Rasmus Kristensen on Wednesday, with the player becoming their second new signing from Red Bull Salzburg this summer.

The Whites are actively trying to strengthen their squad, having sailed painfully close to the relegation wind this season. They clawed their way out of the drop zone on a dramatic final day, courtesy of a 2-1 win at Brenford. That success, coupled with Burnley’s loss to Newcastle, meant it was the Clarets who suffered demotion.

Jesse Marsch’s side set about their business within hours of seeing their safety confirmed. Indeed, that very same night it was announced that a deal for January target Brenden Aaronson was done. The young American’s signing being formally announced just a few days later.

Aaronson’s arrival from RB Salzburg, however, won’t be the last time Leeds raid the Austrians this summer. Indeed, it emerged last week that a deal for Kristensen was in the works.

The Denmark right-back has seemingly opted for a move to Leeds ahead of rival interest from Borussia Dortmund and Brentford.

And the player has done little to disguise his admiration for the club, admitting he ‘does not need to google Leeds United’.

Now, according to trusted transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Leeds could expect to announce the signing of Kristensen on Wednesday.

He claims the deal is now ‘done and confirmed’ with the player due to undergo his medical tests with Leeds tomorrow.

He adds that everything has been completed and is set to be announced, with the player joining Leeds on a permanent deal.

Leeds are understood to be paying £9.7m (€11.5m) for Kristensen. The 24-year-old will likely sign a four-year deal that keeps him at Elland Road until 2026.
