Leeds United transfer news: Brazilian wonderkid Renyer targeted despite Euro powerhouse’s presence

Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing Brazilian wonderkid Renyer from Santos this summer.

Renyer is highly-rated as one of the hottest talents to come out of the Santos academy in recent years. The Brazilian club are known for producing special youngsters, with Neymar most famously coming through their ranks. Now, Leeds United are hoping to scoop early for their most recent prodigy, with Renyer listed on their transfer targets.

According to the Portuguese outlet Record, Renyer is set for a European move this summer, with Leeds keeping close tabs.

The 18-year-old is yet to make his professional debut in Brazil. However, many fans of the club are well aware of his name, as they believe he could be the next star player.

Predominantly a right-winger, the skillful youngster has been noticed for his performances in the Santos reserve team.

He has also made a number of appearances for Brazil’s national youth teams.

His performances have earned him a promotion into the senior squad at Santos. The club are hopeful that Renyer will also stay with them for at least another season, so he can gain some vital first-team experience.

But Leeds are no stranger to helping out young talent themselves. The Whites already signed talented young winger Amari Miller from Birmingham last summer, who has now impressed for their under-23 side.

Renyer would also have to compete with Crysencio Summerville for a spot in the Leeds youth line-up.

Summerville had an impressive campaign in the Premier League 2 last season, scoring six goals from 14 games.

Unfortunately for Leeds, they are not the only European club to have noticed the new prospect.
