Leeds United target Brenden Aaronson 'interested' in Premier League move

RB Salzburg attacker Brenden Aaronson would be interested in a move to Leeds United in the summer, says transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.

The Whites failed in their attempts to sign him last month, but O’Rourke thinks the 21-year-old is open to the idea of joining a Premier League club.

Leeds made a real effort to sign Aaronson in January but could not persuade Salzburg to sell in the end.

According to The Athletic, an initial £15m bid was made, while Sky Sports later went on to claim that the Yorkshire club had made an increased £20m offer after seeing their first one knocked back.

Leeds’ failure to land Aaronson meant they did not sign a single player last month, with manager Marcelo Bielsa clearly preferring to wait for the American to become available instead of signing an alternative.

As per The Athletic’s Phil Hay, the Argentine will return for him in the summer, where it may be easier to do a deal given that Salzburg will not be in the middle of their Champions League or domestic campaign.

O’Rourke thinks Aaronson’s future could be at Leeds, with the football journalist telling GIVEMESPORT that the USA international is interested in a move to England.

Speaking to GMS, O’Rourke said: “It seems the player himself would be interested in a move to the Premier League.”
