Leeds United player names Aston Villa star in brilliant response to question
Leeds United's Pascal Struijk has named Philippe Coutinho as the best player he has played against.
Coutinho gave Struijk the run-around in Aston Villa 's 3-0 win at Elland Road earlier this month, scoring in the Premier League victory. Coutinho also bagged in a 3-3 draw at Villa Park back in February and set up Villa's other two goals with Struijk also playing every minute of that game.
The Dutchman was asked for his toughest opponent during a question and answer session on social media platform Twitter and actually tagged Coutinho in his reply alongside a set of eyes emojis. Coutinho's impact has been felt at Villa since the 29 year-old decided to leave Barcelona and move to the Second City on loan for the rest of the season.
He has bagged four goals and set up three for his team-mates in ten matches for Steven Gerrard 's side but has been quiet in the last couple of games in defeat to Arsenal and West Ham United. Villa have an option to sign Coutinho when his loan deal finishes come the summer with a clause entitling them to buy the player for £33 million kicking in at the end of the current campaign.
It is likely that Villa will look to secure the signing of the former Liverpool man but, speaking after the trip to Elland Road, Villa boss Gerrard said it is not as easy a deal as it may appear. "I think you all know what my decision would be," Gerrard said.
"I think you all know what I think of him but this is not as straightforward as people think." "There is obviously an option in place, Barcelona still own the player.
"Phil has got to obviously want to be here in terms of the big picture but he is enjoying his football and looks happy and settled. "I know the owners are very ambitious, so we will just analyse it
