Leeds transfer news: Jesse Marsch comes good with deal agreed for deadly Dane Rasmus Kristensen

Leeds Utd have agreed personal terms with RB Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen, and a report has detailed why his arrival is a huge coup for Jesse Marsch.

Leeds have wasted little time getting to work on their summer transfer plans to help avoid a repeat of last season’s woes. Midfielder Brenden Aaronson will arrive from RB Salzburg in a deal that had its foundations laid in January.

The American’s arrival was dependant on Leeds beating the drop, something they did narrowly on the final day at Burnley’s expense.

Yet the Athletic’s Phil Hay suggested a new right-back was also on their agenda and touted a move for Denmark international, Rasmus Kristensen.

The 24-year-old is well known to Jesse Marsch through their time together in Austria at Salzburg.

Borussia Dortmund and Brentford were also reportedly chasing his signature. But per the Telegraph, it is Marsch and Leeds that have forged an agreement.

The newspaper state Kristensen has agreed personal terms with Leeds. Furthermore, a ‘deal is now in place’ for his transfer to West Yorkshire.

The move will only set Leeds back around £10m when all is said and done. By all accounts, that is a veritable steal for a player who racked up gaudy numbers last season.

Indeed, Kristensen plundered 10 goals and eight assists playing as an orthodox right-back in a back four.

The Telegraph add he will compete with Luke Ayling for the starting role. Though given Ayling’s dismal form last season, it stands to reason Kristensen will get the nod.

Indeed, given he is known to Marsch and the American boss has clearly had an influence on the move, he will likely be given every chance to succeed at Elland Road.
