Leeds resigned to losing Kalvin Phillips ahead of Man City approach and more transfer rumours

Sources close to Leeds United sound increasingly resigned to losing Kalvin Phillips this summer amid links with a transfer to Manchester City.

City are on the hunt for a defensive midfielder after losing club captain Fernandinho this summer. The Brazilian only played a bit-part role to the ever-impressive Rodri last term, but Pep Guardiola wants to keep competition for places fierce and sees the England international as a fitting replacement.

Leeds survived the drop on the final day last season, but links regarding Phillips' exit have persisted right through the close-season and it looks like City will make their approach once the midfielder's Nations League commitments are over.
