"Leeds are looking at…" – Tim Thornton drops big transfer claim on £39.6m-rated duo

Leeds United are ‘looking at’ RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams and Red Bull Salzburg’s Mo Camara ahead of potential moves, according to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton.

The Whites are in the market for midfield reinforcements as academy graduate Kalvin Phillips has completed a switch to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Reliable Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Leeds’ interest in Adams is ‘getting more and more serious’.

Plettenberg has claimed that negotiations between the two clubs are ‘concrete’ and that the first offer is expected to total around €15 million (£12.9m).

Meanwhile, Austrian outlet Salzburg Nachrichten claim that talks have resumed between Leeds and RB Salzburg over a potential deal for Camara after previously reaching an impasse.

The report notes that the west Yorkshire outfit are now willing to spend €30m (£26m) on signing the Mali international, which would see them reinvest a significant portion of the proceeds from Phillips’ sale.

Camara has been left out of pre-season training so far in order to help facilitate a transfer as Jesse Marsch continues to target players familiar with his playing style.

Leeds are also believed to be tracking other engine room operators such as Huddersfield Town’s Lewis O’Brien, Flynn Downes of Swansea City and Sheffield United’s Sander Berge.

And Thornton has confirmed that Leeds do have Adams and Camara on their radar, although isn’t surprised to see so many players linked with a switch to Elland Road.
