"In the next week or so" - Sky Sports reporter drops exciting West Ham transfer claim

West Ham could make up to four signings in the next week or so if everything goes to plan, says Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The east London club have brought in Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes and Alphonse Areola so far and do not look to be finished there.

While West Ham are targeting multiple players right now, Chelsea’s Armando Broja seems to be their priority.

Last month, Sky Sports claimed that the 20-year-old was their top striker target for the summer.

Since then, reports from outlets such as The Guardian have stated that the Hammers have made a £30m-plus bid for Broja.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, however, says he does not expect his forward to depart Stamford Bridge.

“I don’t expect him to leave,” the German recently said. “I’m aware of the offers and aware of the interest. We will make a decision together, the owner and me and the player. When he arrived it was clear he is trying to impress and become a Chelsea player.”

Sheth has told GIVEMESPORT that, in an ideal world, West Ham would have deals for three or four players completed soon.

Speaking to GMS earlier this week, the Sky Sports reporter said: “The Jesse Lingard situation, that wasn’t a priority position as such. You could call it almost a priority player.

“Potentially, if everything went as West Ham fans would want it, they could get three, maybe even four, signings over the line in the next week or so.”

As Sheth alluded to, David Moyes was targeting Lingard following his Manchester United exit. However, the England international has since gone on to join Nottingham Forest.
