Lee Johnson unleashes on Hibs players after Celtic annihilation as he warns 'we can't accept anything like that'

It was a disappointing away day for Lee Johnson 's Hibs side, with Celtic putting six goals past the Leith side. And the manager made clear that such a result will never be accepted again as he continues his rein at Easter Road.

Despite a second half goal from Elie Youan to give the visitors a glimmer of hope as the scoreline read 3-1, Celtic hit back quickly to increase their lead once more before netting two more times to rub salt in Hibs' wounds.

Johnson shook things up at the break after his side finished the first 45 three goals down, but even four sets of fresh legs was not enough to help Hibs get anything from the game. Following the thumping, the boss has hit out at individual errors from his players insisting that all six of Celtic goals were due to a slacking defensive performance.

Speaking to BBC following the final whistle, the Easter Road boss said: "The standard that we set out to play, we were nowhere near.

"We have to be humble in defeat, Celtic were very, very good, but we made horrendous errors for all the goals. However much running you put in, however much effort, if you can't defend properly and if you make individual errors like we did, you're going to come unstuck. We cannot accept that standard mentally.

"We have to take lessons from games like this. Whether that's myself in terms of the way that we recruit, the psychology in which we recruit, but also players to step into these games and not show the fear that we showed in the first half.
