Luka Modric: Real Madrid star silenced teammates with magic in training

Luka Modric silenced his teammates with a piece of pure brilliance in Real Madrid training recently.

The football legend is now 37 years old but continues to play at the very highest level.

Modric has been a key part of a Real Madrid side since signing for the club in 2012 and he remains one of the first names on the team sheet a decade later.

The Croatian has played 11 times for Los Blancos this season, scoring twice.

He will no doubt play a key role as Real Madrid welcome Barcelona to Santiago Bernabeu for the first Clasico of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Real Madrid are preparing for their clash against fierce rivals Barcelona this weekend.

Los Blancos have been sharing some clips from training ahead of the match.

And one clip they shared was of Modric silencing his teammates with a moment of magic.

Modric and his teammates were taking part in a shooting drill.

A ball is fizzed in with some pace and the player has to take a touch before shooting at goal.

Modric stepped up but he uncharacteristically took a wayward touch. That prompted Real players, including Rodrygo and Eden Hazard, to pipe up as they put pressure on the legendary midfielder.

But Modric silenced them by flicking the ball over his head before striking a venomous volley into the net from range.

Real's players were left impressed as Rodrygo picked up Modric in celebration. Hazard, Nacho and David Alaba could be seen clapping their teammate's brilliance. Watch the moment below...
