A couple of little nyaffs, to use a bit of Glasgow slang, going head to head at Tynecastle and it should have been broadcast live on television for everyone to see it. Napoleon complex I believe it's called. Both Steven Naismith and Lee Johnson are guys who look like they could start a fight in an empty house but the battle of Gorgie was handbags at dawn.

Ugly scenes at full-time? I laugh every time a commentator says 'these are scenes that nobody wants to see' whenever there's a touchline rammy at football games. It's exactly what some people want to see and it was the featherweight dust up in the derby on Saturday which has become the big talking point. It wasn't even a proper rammy. I remember coming off the bench for Hibs at Ibrox and Jorg Albertz had Gary Smith by the throat.

He was throttling the life out of him and was sent off, I can still remember the photo on the back page of all of the newspapers. The next day we were in for training at Easter Road and Gary was slaughtered by the boys for s******* it from the Hammer.

From my own experience I can only remember a pre-season game against Marseille which erupted into a full scale riot at the final whistle but the scrapping between Hearts and Hibs players and staff was a storm in a teacup. There are bigger talking points to discuss. How that game wasn't on tv is incredible in my opinion.

So much was riding on it. I read Steven Naismith's pre-match quotes saying it was just another game and he would be disappointed if his chances of being offered the manager's job permanently was riding on it.
