Leaks Reveal Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Will have an Anti-cheat

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was officially revealed on Wednesday of this week, along with the first official gameplay trailer, and leaks, the gaming community is quite excited about what the game will bring.

With a ton of reveals being shared today, Call of Duty MWII Informer revealed newws about how Activision and Infinity will crack the whip on gamers who plan on getting an unfair advantage in the game from day one.

To counteract players that use unfair ways to win matches, the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat program was deployed throughout COD: Vanguard and Warzone. Both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will include the security gadget from the start when they release later this year on PCs, according to the developers.

With more games allowing cross-play between consoles and PCs, it’s more important than ever that the playing field is levelled across the board, and anti-cheat solutions can help developers achieve just that.

The anti-cheat security driver detects apps and code that could be used to aid a gamer in battle at the kernel level on the player’s PC. RICOCHET, like the other games, requires the player to install it on their PC to access the multiplayer features. This leak is great news for gamers.

RICOCHET support in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 from the start will undoubtedly reassure the Call of Duty community. It’s unclear whether the method will be used in the next MW2 beta test, but an announcement from Activision and Infinity Ward addressing the issues demonstrates that the companies are serious about removing individuals who want to play unjustly.
