'Leaked' Adidas move with Europa League rivals should excite Manchester United

Manchester United could become the next club to have a retro kit remade and re-released by Adidas, as Roma will reputedly receive one before the end of this year.

Despite only re-signing with the kit manufacturer last summer for the first time since the early 1990s, the Italian club reportedly have a new version of a classic kit launching this autumn. The burgundy home kit with orange accents they wore for two seasons between 1992 and 1994 is going on sale again.

Adidas' trefoil logo is on the shirt opposite the Luppeto (little wolf) badge that adorned their kits in the '80s and '90s. Even their old sponsor, Barilla, returns 30 years after their deal with the club ended.

Footy Headlines has leaked the remake after it was spotted for sale, claiming the shirt will cost £90. Adidas also appear to have used a thicker material when remaking the kit to stay authentic to the originals.

As another one of Adidas' 'elite teams' alongside Roma for the coming season, United could conceivably have one of their classic kits remade by the manufacturer. The iconic 1990-92 away shirt sponsored by Sharp could be a candidate after it inspired the 2021/22 season's away shirt.

Regarding the potential remake of home kits, a relaunch of the 1992/94 one would have to be one of the leading contenders, with Adidas faithfully recreating the classic lace-up collar. After the manufacturer has shown they are willing to venture into remake kits, United may want one of their own depending on how well Roma's is received.
