League of Legends: Riot Reveal Skarner to Receive Next Champion Update

League of Legends Champion Skarner will be next to receive an update with the Champion winning the Season 2022 poll decisively.

Every year, Riot Games put out a poll for a set of older Champions and let their fans decide on who they want to receive the next Video and Gameplay Update (VGU). This year, the winner was Skarner who won the poll with 33.4% while the closest to him was Shyvana with 19.6%.

Skarner was released in 2011, over ten years ago, with his last ‘Mini Rework’ coming back in season ten that saw a change to his Q. Before that Skarner had only received minor changes as well as several buffs and nerfs.

Skarner has rarely been touched by Riot almost as if he was forgotten with his play rate being very minimal well thanks to League of Legends most recent poll he will be next to receive an entire overhaul.

Here’s everything you need to know about Skarner and his rework:

League of Legends creators have not given much detail as to what we can expect to see from the Skarner update, however, we do know that the Champion will be rebuilt from the ground up except for his Ultimate.

Ryan ‘Reav3’ Mireless stated in the Champion poll blog post: “We’ll look to keep his kidnapping Ult in some form, but otherwise we’ll be rebuilding him from the ground up”. 

Reav3 also stated: “We think he has tons of potential to be something truly special on the League Roster.”

Skarner will almost certainly be a Tank or Fighter Champion upon his update as this is what he was beforehand, probably seeing him back in the Jungle with an entirely new kit.
