Law and District AAC runners excel in cross country competitions
Law and District AAC athletes have continued their good form at a number of events throughout the country.
Under-15 Lucy Taylor was selected to represent Scotland at the Schools International Cross Country Championships in Dublin, where she finished 29th.
The Scottish girls narrowly missed out on a bronze team medal, competing against England, Ireland and Wales.
Taylor’s selection was a result of her top-10 finish at the Scottish Schools National Cross Country in South Queensferry.
Athletes then competed at the South Lanarkshire Schools Cross Country Championships at Biggar Rugby Club, with impressive results.
S1 girls: 1. Emily Taylor; 8. Evelyn McNally
S1 boys: 3. Jamie Mackie
S2 girls: 1. Lucy Taylor; 6. Freya Togneri
S2 boys: 2. Blair Beverley
S3 girls: 3. Olivia Inglis
S5 girls: 1. Jessica Inglis
Meanwhile, younger athletes put on their spikes to compete at the South Lanarkshire Primary Schools Cross Country finals at Chatelherault Country Park in Hamilton.
They had previously finished in the top-10 of the Clydesdale Schools Cross Country Championships at Lanark Racecourse.
The club’s P6 and P7 athletes did well.
P6 girls: 2. Allyssa Bennet
P6 girls’ team: 1. Allyssa Bennet and Lexie Boyd
P7 girls’ team: 3. Lana Boyd, Layla Clark, Chloe Gardiner, Maya Carmichael, Nora Milloy.
Daniel Kennedy and Ben Wilson both ran well.
