Latest Burnley injury news as Clarets suffer major blow ahead of Wolves

Burnley caretaker boss Mike Jackson has provided an update on Ashley Westwood and Erik Pieters ahead of the clash with Wolves at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon (2pm).

Wolves will make the trip to Lancashire to face the Clarets on the back of a defeat to Newcastle, a fortnight ago.

Ahead of the encounter, Jackson confirmed that Westwood, who fractured and dislocated his ankle at West Ham last Sunday, has since undergone surgery and is now facing a long road to recovery.

"It is a fracture and a dislocation," said Jackson in his press conference. "The operation went really well.

"Erik Pieters is doing a lot of running on the grass and is where he needs to be."
