De Bruyne, Walker, Stones - Man City injury news and possible return dates ahead of Newcastle

Manchester City will turn their attention back to the Premier League on Sunday when they host Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.

It has been a tough few days for Pep Guardiola's side after being on the receiving end of a Real Madrid comeback on Wednesday night. Rodrygo scored twice in stoppage time to take the game to extra time after Riyad Mahrez had given the Blues a 5-3 advantage on aggregate.

Karim Benzema scored the decisive winning goal from the penalty spot five minutes into the first period of extra time as the hosts progressed to the Champions League final in Paris. City still hold a one-point lead over Liverpool in the Premier League title race and will be hoping to bounce back with three points on Sunday, here is the latest on their injury concerns ahead of the weekend.

City's Belgian playmaker was substituted for Ilkay Gundogan on Wednesday night a minute before the Blues scored through Mahrez. Concerns were sparked that De Bruyne may have suffered an injury with that being the reason for his substitution.

However, Guardiola confirmed on Friday that he will be fully fit for Newcastle. He said in his press conference: "He's good, it [the substitution] was tactical."

Walker returned to the City side on Wednesday night after recovering from an ankle injury, a move Guardiola had described as a 'risk' before the game. It appeared to be one that did not pay off when Walker hobbled off in the 72nd minute to be replaced by Oleksandr Zinchenko.

It is unknown at this stage when Walker will be back from injury for the Blues.
