"Last update I had..." - Transfer insider shares "pretty mad" Leeds and Mohamed Camara claim

Leeds United may decide to not move forward on the potential transfer of RB Salzburg and Mali midfielder Mohamed Camara because of the club’s imminent signing of Tyler Adams, according to Dean Jones.

The Whites had been interested in Camara, but the deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Adams looks to have ended those negotiations.

The deal for Camara looks to have fallen through with the other deals that Leeds are pursuing this summer.

The signing of Adams and Luis Sinisterra seem to be imminent announcements, whilst Leeds are also known to be scouting Club Brugge attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere.

Camara seems to be the victim of Leeds’ potentially explosive transfer window, with the seemingly inevitable departure of Raphinha likely to enable the club to spend big to replace their talismanic winger this summer.

And Jones believes that the inevitable incomings over the upcoming weeks means that a deal for the 15-time Mali international looks unlikely as it stands.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The other guy we’ve seen talked about is Camara.

“That’s been a pretty mad one to watch unfold, because he’s really had his head turned by all the interest, and the last update I had is that he was really excited by the proposition of joining Leeds.

“But while he’s someone they really like, I’m not 100% convinced that they’re now going to move forward with that one, because of the Adams situation.”

As it stands, it seems unlikely that Leeds will fund a deal to bring another midfielder to the club, although they may feel that Adams alone will not be enough to replace the presence of Kalvin Phillips, who was sold to Manchester City for up to £45m this month.
