Kris Boyd tells 'regressing' Rangers they’re the only business in Britain making one huge mistake

Kris Boyd doesn't see any other business in BRITAIN operating the way Rangers are right now.

The Ibrox club have no chief executive, and interim chairman and have just lost their head of football operations. And things are just as bad on the park after they fell six points behind both rivals Celtic and Aberdeen following a dismal 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at the weekend, hot on the heels of the two above them sharing the spoils at Celtic Park.

Former CEO James Bisgrove slipped off to Saudi Arabia months ago, while ex-chairman John Bennett stepped down due to health reasons. Creag Robertson is also set to head for the exit door, and while the latter two departures are relatively recent, Boyd doesn't know why it's taken so long to identify and appoint Bisgrove's successor. And poor results are only increasing the focus on the boardroom strife going on above Philippe Clement's head.

"If you're winning games of football, even if these things are going on in the background, no-one tends to take any notice," he told Sky Sports. "But when you're at a big football club and things aren't going right, everything is in the spotlight.

"There's no getting away from it, the process to replace people has not been good enough. I get there's been changes but looking at it, at boardroom level, is there any communication going on there? There doesn't seem to be.

"It's easy to look at Rangers as a football club. But they are also a business and I don't think there's any other business in the UK that would be functioning like this in terms of no chairman and no CEO. You need to get people in the right areas and I get there's process, but how long as tis been going on far? It's been ages. It's a problem."

Clement is under serious pressure
