Kris Boyd gets stuck into Aberdeen as he seizes on 'pathetic' streak that goes way beyond Neil Warnock

Kris Boyd has described Aberdeen's displays in recent weeks as "pathetic" and has questioned some of the decision making by Dave Cormack and rest of the Pittodrie board.

The Dons go into today's clash with St Mirren in Paisley without a win in their last nine matches, with Warnock's men now five points adrift of the top six and just four above Ross County in the relegation play-off zone. Sections of the Pittodrie crowd chanted "sack the board" and "you're not fit to wear the shirt" in Wednesday night's dismal 2-0 home defeat to St Johnstone, as 75-year-old Warnock's tenure as interim boss in the Granite City shows no signs of getting better.

Pundit and former Rangers star Boyd has agreed with Warnock's comments that some players in the squad have not been pulling their own weight, but also feels that Dave Cormack and the other board members at Pittodrie are equally as culpable for the poor showing so far this season. Speaking on Sky Sports News, he said: "They are rudderless right now and have nothing about them, but that comes from the top.

"You can point the finger at the players as Barry Robson obviously lost his job, but they also performed well in Europe earlier in the season. To lose 2-0 to St Johnstone earlier in the week and hardly lay a glove on them is pathetic and it was the same against Kilmarnock the week before.

"They have been really, really poor and I would be worried if I am Aberdeen. They have invited an outside company to review the full football club. They'll be able to go in and dissect everything but Aberdeen as a city are proud of their club and I think there should always be someone connected to them and understands it.
