Kris Boyd gets Michael Dawson raging live on Sky Sports as Rangers hero 'at the wind up' over bizarre Man City goal

Kris Boyd got the Sky Sports studio up in arms as he went against the grain and defended the decision to award Man City a controversial goal against Fulham.

Fulham boss Marco Silva was left apoplectic on the brink of half-time when his side, who had cancelled out Julian Alvarez's opener against the champions, went behind in controversial fashion. Nathan Ake got the goal but Manuel Akanji, who was in an offside position, attempted to play it before it went in. He didn't touch it but Fulham felt their keeper Bernd Leno had been affected by Akanji's interference.

Michael Oliver initially gave the goal, then upheld his decision after being called to the VAR screen. That left Fulham players and boss Silva raging with protests continuing well into the half-time interval. And the Sky Sports studio was unanimous in its sympathy for them...apart from Boyd.

Pundit Dawson went on an impassioned rant, arguing that Akanji had jumped over the ball and had to have interfered. But the former Rangers striker responded: "Just save it. The keeper can just save it."

Dawson was then backed by former ref Mike Dean who was in the studio and felt Oliver got the call wrong. Dawson then went on: "Completely offside in my opinion. Marco Silva's angry, I'm angry because Boydy's winding me up. He's jumped over the ball, how is he not interfering?"

But an affronted Boyd responded: "Is it a goal? It's a goal. So how can I be winding you up?"
