Kris Boyd drops Rangers bombs in takedown for the ages as Clement branded an 'energy zapper' who must go NOW
Kris Boyd claims Philippe Clement is zapping the energy from Rangers and has declared it's time up with the Ibrox club at their lowest point.
A 2-0 home defeat to St Mirren was rated as the worst of the Belgian's reign by the man himself. And Boyd is adamant the time has come for change in the dugout regardless of when it comes in the boardroom as a takeover by 49er Enterprises edges closer. The manager just seems to be an energy zapper.
"The energy has gone from the stands, it's gone from the players on the pitch. Even looking at the staff when you see them at games, there's no vibe of 'I'm at Rangers Football Club and I'm proud to be here," it's going through the motions. That comes from needing a leader, somebody at the top.
"It's now as low as it can possibly get. We're used to Philippe Clement coming out with excuses; he just looked defeated yesterday. It's time up."
With the benefit of hindsight, Boyd reckons he can make sense of CEO Patrick Stewart's recent interviews and reckons the Americans have been embedded within the club for a while sussing out what needs to be done. He added: "This week has been critical for Rangers. There is no doubt that they had to find investment. When you look at what has happened this week, it's easy to look back and start to piece things together.
"When you look at the takeover and the ones who are coming in, I think they were in Nice. That didn't just happen out of the blue. Patrick Stewart arrives after that and you get the feeling that this root and branch review has been the Americans putting people in to do their due
