Kris Boyd basks in Celtic misery as Rangers hero delivers brutal Lazio troll with cheeky Gazza throwback snap
Gloating Kris Boyd has taken a pot shot at Celtic after their late Champions League heartbreak at the hands of Lazio.
The Scottish Premiership champions failed to get their first point of the group stage despite taking the lead through Kyogo at Celtic Park. Matias Vecino bundled the ball over the line before half time for the Serie A side but Celtic remained in control throughout the 90 minutes - and thought they had won late in the game through Luis Palma before VAR stepped in to chop off the goal. It would be Lazio leaving with the Hoops being hit by a sucker punch as Pedro nodded in an injury-time winner after a sweeping counter attack.
It leaves Brendan Rodgers side needing a major turnaround to stand any chance of reaching the knockout stage as they remain rooted to the bottom of Group E. And while the pain will be raw for the Parkhead support Rangers fan favourite Boyd couldn't resist a cheeky dig.
The Sky Sports pundit took to his Instagram page almost instantly following the full-time whistle to post a snap of Paul Gascoigne during his playing days with Lazio. The Rangers legend is smirking and holding the club badge in his hands in the picture shared to Boyd's story.
