Koen Casteels delivers Celtic transfer blow with next destination 'revealed' for Belgium keeper

Koen Casteels has reportedly decided on his next destination - and it will come as a blow to Celtic.

The Belgium goalkeeper, who is available on a free transfer as he gets ready to leave German outfit Wolfsburg, is heading to the Euros this summer and previously expressed his desire to have his future sorted before the tournament kicks-off. Brendan Rodgers is reported to have an interest in the 31-year-old with the carrot of Champions League football.

However, HLN reports that he will be the latest big name to head for Saudi Arabia. Al Qadsiah - who recently lifted the second division title - are heading for the big spending Saudi Pro League and are starting to put together a squad to cope to handle life in the top flight. They will come up against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar next season and it appears Casteel will be in their ranks.

Celtic are in the market for a new No1 following the retirement of Joe Hart. The former England international brought the curtain down on his career last weekend by signing off on a major high by defeating Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden. He bagged another medal to add to his Scottish Premiership title this season. His departure leaves a huge void for Rodgers to fill as the search for his successor goes on with the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher consistently linked.
