Kobbie Mainoo’s class shines through with kind act before England’s semi-final win

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo demonstrated his class ahead of England's semi-final win over the Netherlands.

The United star, who partnered with Declan Rice, put in an impressive performance to help the Three Lions earn a dramatic win. At just 19, Mainoo has had a meteoric rise since making his first league start for United in November and reaching the Euro 2024 final is another significant achievement in his extraordinary journey.

Despite the pressure of big occasions, Mainoo, who scored in the FA Cup final, has consistently remained composed. This was evident when he took time out to congratulate a former team-mate on the same day he lined up for a semi-final match as part of Gareth Southgate's side.

Former United striker Charlie McNeill announced that he had sealed a permanent move to Sheffield Wednesday after leaving Old Trafford. Mainoo was among several Red Devils youngsters who wished him well on social media, posting a heart emoji hours before kick-off in Dortmund.

McNeill, who was released by United this summer at the end of his contract, was once a promising talent snapped up from local rivals Manchester City. He scored 24 goals in 21 U18 games during his debut season and made his only first-team appearance at 18, coming on against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
