Kobbie Mainoo might have fixed a Manchester United problem that left Roy Keane furious

Manchester United produced their most accomplished Premier League performance of the season so far on Sunday afternoon, beating Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park.

United made the perfect start, getting their noses in front through a sensational effort from Alejandro Garnacho just three minutes in. Erik ten Hag's side added to their tally after half-time through goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. The Reds have now won five of their last six Premier League matches, keeping three successive clean sheets in the process.

Though the performance wasn't perfect, with goalkeeper Andre Onana called into action on more occasions than manager ten Hag, who watched from the stands, would have hoped for it was a significant upgrade on the showings that had been served up prior to the international break. Ahead of a jam-packed December, the Reds need to use this victory as a platform to build on.

United welcomed Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo back into the fold against the Toffees and both players made significant contributions in helping the Reds record their biggest away win in the Premier League since Ten Hag took charge in May 2022. The duo were important in and out of possession, supporting United's build-up play and proving progressive.

Mainoo, in his first Premier League start, made a big contribution in midfield, helping United dictate spells of the game. He also worked tirelessly off the ball too, tracking back and making a vital goal-line clearance in the first half.
