Kirkcudbright Gun Club hold Commemative Shoot at Campbelton Farm

Nineteen competitors, including one junior took part in the club’s Commemorative Shoot at Campbelton Farm, Twynholm on Saturday.

Conditions were good and it was bright and sunny. There was supposed to be two 25 bird events, however, a trap broke down just after all the competitors had shot their first 25 birds, and unfortunately the shoot had to end at that point.

Two guns were tied on 72 points, Avon McKeand and Finley Bell and two on 71 points, Ian Edmonds and Tom Galashan. There was no shoot off, however, the competitors settled the outcome in a gentlemanly fashion and the result was that Finley Bell was awarded the Avon McKeand Shield, Ian Edmonds collected the Brown Trophy, and Tom Galashan received the Veterans Trophy.

Oliver Stuart was the Junior trophy winner.

Other winners were – 72 points: A McKeand, F Bell. 71 points: I Edmonds, T Galashan. 70 points: P Trotman, M A Stuart.
