Kinnoull boss Alan Cameron hails impressive finishes in cup win against Whitburn

Goals “worthy of winning any cup tie” sent Kinnoull into round two of the Alex Jack Cup.

The Tulloch Park hosts defeated Whitburn on Saturday thanks to impressive finishes from Cammy Robertson and Fraser Morrison.

Manager Alan Cameron said: “I felt it was an evenly contested and fiercely competitive cup tie against a spirited Whitburn side.

“We are delighted to progress first and foremost but we are pleased to keep a clean sheet. Our goals were fantastic finishes, both worthy of winning any cup tie.”

Scorer Morrison has recently returned to the club and Cameron added: “Fraser took his goal very well and showed great composure before drilling home.

“Everyone at the club is delighted with his efforts since returning to the club and hopefully he can have a positive impact on our season.

“All the new lads have settled in well and the work ethic of the squad is excellent. We are creating chances and our forward players look a real threat, so long may it continue.”

There was disappointment for Luncarty who lost out 3-1 away to Coldstream in the second round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.
