Kieran Trippier's behind the scenes moment at Spurs underlines his value

Kieran Trippier shared a moment behind the scenes with Tottenham's Heung-Min Son which underlines his value to Newcastle United. The Magpies full-back has been out of action since fracturing his fifth metatarsal against Aston Villa but has played a huge part in the recent resurgence behind the scenes.

The arrival of the England international at St. James' Park kick started the new era on Tyneside and was the first major statement of intent by Newcastle. Many feared his injury on February 13th would spell danger for Eddie Howe's side, but contrary to that, the Magpies have thrust themselves up the Premier League table.

Trippier has been a class act since arriving on Tyneside, his quality both on and off the pitch buoying Newcastle's survival chances. It's hoped the 31-year-old will play a part in the Magpies remaining games, with the right-back pencilled in for a return at the end of April.

The defender has travelled with the squad in recent weeks despite being sidelined and was with the Magpies contingent at Spurs at the weekend. Although the result did not go the way many would have hoped, Trippier shared a brief embrace with Tottenham Hotspur forward Son after the game.

The pair were once teammates in North London and are still friends, a testament to Trippier's character and a key part of Newcastle's dressing room. Howe has done a stellar job at transforming the Magpies dressing room and the arrival of the La Liga winner has certainly helped.
