Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has sent a heartfelt message to Jack Wilshere as he finally sealed a move to a new club.

The former Gunners’ midfielder has joined Danish outfit Aarhus on a deal until the end of the current season - a contract that includes the option for a further extension.

The move brings to an end the 30-year-old’s long wait for a fresh opportunity having been released by Championship side Bournemouth at the end of last season, whilst he has also been training with Arsenal in an attempt to retain his fitness.

He has finally managed to seal a move though, with Aarhus giving him the opportunity to impress and one of those who has been training at close quarters with Wilshere - Kieran Tierney - has given his say on the move.

Posting on his Instagram story, the Scottish defender wrote: “My man!! Congrats.

“Buzzing for you.. You’ll smash it. And I’ll miss u.”

It is certainly not a surprise to see Tierney wish Wilshere the best of luck ahead of his move to Scandinavia having previously admitted the pair have got close since the midfielder’s return to London Colney.

Speaking earlier this month, he said: "My best mate at Arsenal would be Rob Holding.

"He helped me a lot when I first came, so I’m grateful for that.

"And also now Jack Wilshere's training with us, I’ve been very close with him. He’s a great guy and also a great player."
